1988-D LMC PMD or??

    Got this in change today and noticed the obverse didn't look quite right. When looking closer, there appears to be part of obverse sunken in. Looks like the outline of the Memorial on the reverse. Not a clash because it isn't raised, and there are no marks i can see in the sunken area.

    The part affected in in between yellow arrows on 3rd picture.

    Those are some pretty good pics you got there. The sunken in area, is from die wear. it is possible that you might see some of the memorial rev. it is called indirect die transfer.

    Thank you. This is the 1st time i have seen this or heard of it. Learned something today.

    All I have for camera is a Canon T3 DSLR Mounted on a tri-pod. I bought some cheapo tube extenders for extreme close-ups. My lighting is an OTT desk lamp and a clamp on swing arm lamp.

    IMO Lighting is the biggest part of the battle.
