Nepal: VS2052 (1995) gold proof Asarfi of Gyanendra Shah (1/20th-ounce), Lord Buddha commemorative

    PCGS PR69 DCAM. Cert. #37128569.

Numista-302034 (this is the Numista plate coin). Krause-Mishler-1079, Friedberg-78.

    .9999 gold, .0499 oz. Diameter: 14 mm. Weight: 1.55 g.

A small but attractive Nepalese gold coin with the image of the Lord Buddha. Struck at Singapore. At the time I bought this, I paid a considerable premium over the gold spot price, but as of 2025 the bullion value had risen considerably over my cost. But aside from that, it's an appealing little coin anyway, not only for the portrait of Buddha but also because of the Deep Cameo proof contrast.

    Ex-eBay, purchased in the slab.
