    Hi Forum,
Can someone assist with this coin identity? ChatGPT says it is a Chinese 1 tael / sycee from Qing Dynasty, but I cannot locate any similar ones online based on that description. It is about 1” x 1.25” and weights about the same as a U.S. quarter. Will try to get a weight in a day or so. Thanks in advance.

Wow, thanks. I need to switch to Google image search. And learn basic difference in Japanese and Chinese characters. Happy holidays.

Someone will probably tell me I'm totally wrong but I think the Chinese and Japanese characters are the same, or at least the Japanese are based on Chinese and unless you speak the language you likely can't tell the difference. The numbers are definitely the same.
