Anyone else get the U.S. Comic Art coins? Especially the gold?

Broke the budget a little for the Superman and Wonder Woman ones. Thoughts on the series?

I really like the Superman one but the cost is a real detractor for me. If I ever have enough spare money burning a hole in my pocket with nothing better to spend it on, maybe lol. I love the design, even love the packaging, the only thing I don't love is the price.

 

I saw a silver Superman one go for about $150 in a CACG holder.

 

The Mint is selling the 1 oz. silver for $135 so that sounds about right.

It was a tough pill to swallow. My wife and my brother were hitting me up the back side of my head, but I did it for my kids to give them when they're grown. Probably should have gotten them pre-1933 gold, but here I am... I'm a knucklehead.

 

Oof! That's cheap! Yeah, I don't expect this series to do well. There's a host of people that don't want the US Mint getting involved in licensing. I'm one of them to an extent, I just thought that the subject matter actually dod have historical significance.

 

I'll grab one at FUN 2026 if the price comes down a bit.

 

I think it will TBH, but only time will tell. I hope to be able to go to FUN too, but I just blew my coin budget for a while...

 

I am not one of those people; I think pop culture is an important part of our culture and history too. And if people don't like them, well, then they can just not buy them lol... I've never understood why people complain that things they don't like exist; nobody's forcing anyone to buy anything they don't want. My only real complaint is the price, but I might swallow that pill for the Superman one at least. I like the Batman and Wonder Woman ones too, but if I'm only going to buy one of them, and at most realistically that's all I'd get, it would be Superman.
