look here: http://cgi.ebay.com/John-Adams-Doll...yZ149688QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Since when does post mint damage qualify as an error and just who is going to be dumb enough to buy this.
LOL.....so far there's one dummy bidding on it. It may sell for 1 cent less than face value as long as more dummies dont come along and bid at the last second. That would totally ruin my evening if someone would do that to me with a coin like that.
"Post Mint Damage Error" Must be a mistake!! An honest description? Quick, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, gotta bid, = phew.
The value isn't that it's an error, it's that the damage is in the shape of the halo of the Virgin Mary. If he can pair it with an image of Jesus on a grilled cheese sandwich, it'll be worth a fortune!
who'snthe idiot that is bidding on it. I guess if you want a coin with the image of the Virgin Mary on it this one is for you. Looks more like a coffee stain to me, but what do I know.
Look at some of his closed listings (you can see them in the feedback comments). He just (as Al Franken would say) makes **** up. He has created his own error categories: GW dollar "starburst" error. John Adams dollar "angelic halo" John Adams "wild hair line" error
What do you guys do? Spend all day critizing and making fun of people! Do something constructive! Shut up!
Winning bid: US $12.75 Ended: Jul-28-07 12:15:29 PDT Shipping costs: US $2.95 Funny, but not for the buyer.
Good attitude. And yes, we do make fun of people who sell fake coins, mis-described stuff, bogus lots, and try to act to protect buyers from fraudulent sellers on eBay. And, no I will not shut up. Not until every bogus seller, rip-off-artist and con artist is removed from the marketplace. THAT IS constructive. Or, were you the seller?
No, I'm not the seller but jeez I come on here to get some constructive information on John Adams error coins and all I find is all this nonsense! Never mind...I'll find another forum!
You know it's really a shame that you feel that way as I'm sure if you looked hard enough in this forum you wiould find A LOT of posts with information more to your liking. Personally, I don't care for the new dollars at all but will always check out a post like this as people DO NEED TO KNOW what a ripoff is. We have managed to pool our efforts and get bogus junk pulled off of ebay. That is not easy to do. Would you rather we all looked at this auction and said "Wow that is so cool", "wish I had one!" etc.?? That would make us no better than the seller who IS INDEED ripping people (like yourself possibly) off. Perhaps you CAN find a forum more to your liking - good luck. In the meantime why don't you do a bit more digging or even better yet - POST A THREAD YOURSELF. People here are willing to help. Heck, I'd even help if I could but be warned I can be EXTREMELY sarcastic. It's a gift. Remember. A closed mind is no mind at all.... clembo
