That's a very lovely coin and you won't regret it for that price.

Here's what you could get in the same style but a more common type at around the same price:

(This sold at Roma in Nov. for 280 GBP.) Personally I'd rather have the more common type with the better portrait. But if you'd rather have the rarer one, then I'd say go for it!

Check out this acsearch link...It appears your coin was offered before (unsold) and that Ken is right on the money for the more realistic market value. So it seems a good deal to me.

Just a reminder that it is also possible that other non-lurkers might also be considering the coin without knowing another forum member was interested, so to label anyone else as unscrupulous if they buy this coin might be unfair.

Bottom line: post fixed price coins at your own peril; please do not post coins which are scheduled for auction. I view IOM's recent post about the tooled Caligula an exception since he was bringing it to light as a public service announcement, warning us of the unmentioned tooling.

You didn't buy that coin (that's too bad) .... you bought a different coin? (awesome)

Ummm, any chance that we could take a peek at your new coin purchase?

Good point! My point was for those who had not seen the coin, and go after it due to the OP (bad form!)

But, yes, agreed! Some folks may have ALREADY been looking at or bidding.
