  1. Do you think they will do a Jimmy Carter presidential dollar like they did with George H W Bush?

I hope so. He was a good president who got caught in a bad time period, especially in the Mideast

I mentioned this in another thread; there is a piece of legislation sitting on a table somewhere in Congress (hasn't even been voted on, as of last time I checked) that would authorize the Mint to just make another presidential dollar for any president that died and hasn't already been depicted on a presidential dollar (so, Carter and any other president after they die); this would end the need to have a separate piece of legislation for each president they want to add to the series, as had to be done for George H. W. Bush. IMO it stands a good chance of eventually passing.

I think it's quite likely Carter will get one eventually. It's clear enough people in Congress like the idea of the presidential dollar series effectively being a historical record of presidents in coin form, plus they bring in a lot of money to the Treasury when people collect them, even if they're seldom used in circulation.

I think it's a safe bet Carter will eventually get one, as would any other presidents a reasonable time after they die. It's not certain at this point, but I think it's at least 98% likely.

It will not be long before the mint will come out with a Congressman and Senator series. Anything to make money off the public.

I think they will. They’ll make anything to get over priced coins in the hands of the public.

Jimmy Carter was a good man who was a weak president. One could argue that he was the greatest ex-president because of his extensive charity work with Habitat for Humanity and other charities.

I think that there will be a Jimmy Carter dollar very soon. I can’t see why there won’t be one because every other former president has had one after he passed on.

Of course, the mint makes money off of the public, but it couldn't happen if the public didn't want them. Everyone has the choice NOT to buy them. But if someone DOES want them, they are there to buy.

Regarding Carter on a dollar I will be in when they come out, which I am fairly certain they will.

Have seen those, but they're not an official Mint product, if anyone cares about such things. I'll wait for a "real" one, if one is created (which I think is more likely than not that one will be eventually).

Regarding the Mint "trying to make money off the public" I'm all for it as long as they make something I want to buy for a reasonable price I can afford, otherwise well... I just won't buy them. I don't see why that's an inherently bad thing. My only complaint with their products lately is their pricing; that's the main reason I don't buy much directly from the Mint these days.
