I have this dime with a cud like feature whats wrong with it. and I also have this 1981 quarter which seems like it has more silver than the other any explanations?
On the Dime you have what is called a Die Chip. A CUD would involve the very edge of the Rim going into the field.
Why do people sometimes spell the word Quarter wrong in their title? I guess they are typing too fast! Your Quarter looks to have a normal Clad layer. If it was silver it would be completely silver with no copper core. Your 1981 probably has Environmental Damage that can affect the look and feel of the Nickel Clad layer.
LOL! I have misspelled quarter so many times. Usually on sites that have annoying live feed ads coming through that interrupt my typing, and then I forget to double check my spelling.
