Little Ae of Alexander the Great, last of 2016

    these are nice little coin though aren't they? nice in hand ans well, nice shape and a little bit of weight.

    I only see this thread now. Can you help me? I'm mostly interested in Roman (and other) coins, but I have a small number of earlier Greek coins that my father-in-law left to me. He bought them in the 1970s, and I have his records, too. This is one of his coins. 13 mm, 1.95 gr. The color is yellowish, is it bad silver? A fake?

    Probably made of orichalcum, a brass-like alloy.

    So this is a real chalkos, dating from about 330-300 BC?

    I have one SIMILAR to yours... but the name, bow and quiver are treated a little differently:

    (yours is smaller, so I am sure that is why the name is split on yours).
