I really like that Augustus. He used many interesting reverses. Here is mine.

I don't care what anyone else thinks, the Capricorn is only the sweetest reverse theme on any Roman coinage ever. Titus used it too...though I'm not sure if anyone else besides him and Augustus used it.

Its a Capricorn holding a globe. The Capricorn was an important symbol for Augustus.

@alde , great Augustus!!! Nice job. Congrats capturing that famous Emperor.

I am terrible at pics, lighting, etc. So, I just wing it. I just love my coins and use either my horrible photography skills, or I use the sellers pics. :D Sorry, I confess.

I have an Augustus to share:

    As OCTAVIAN:

Great coins everyone! Alas, I have no Augustus to share. :(

    I'll trade you a Hadrian for 6 of those Gordian III's. :p

Just kidding of course. Nerva and Marcus Aurelius are pretty inexpensive and easy to find if you just want a nice portrait. In fact, I know someone who's selling a nice Nerva right now.... ;) Titus I'm not sure about off the top of my head, but I don't think he's terribly expensive or hard to find, either.

Vespasian does. Antoninus Pius also has a whole series of Zodiac AE's, one of which is Capricorn. Assembling a full set of these 12 would be quite an accomplishment.

i also have a octavian(augustus) denarius. this is the triumvirs coin, marking the defeat of marc anthony and cleopatra at the battle of actium by octavian, thus the end of the republic and the beginning of the empire. minted 32-31 bc. head of the goddess venus obverse, octavian advancing left extending right hand with javelin tranverse in the left reverse. i always considered this to be a republic coin, but its not i guess. octavian(augustus) denarius 002.JPG octavian(augustus) denarius 003.JPG
