This one might stump you, not ring of death

    Raised surfaces on field of reverse, 2019-P. Obverse unaffected and completely normal. not ring of death, die deterioration maybe?

    Thanks for your help! Was thinking that too, but was unsure of the root cause - its die related instead of blank or planchet so was thinking damaged die of some sort. Its not post mint damage because the surface is raised.

    Die deterioration usually radiates, I really don't know.

    I was thinking clash from quarter dollar. But it is not.

    No idea, but you should use pliers to mash the staples flat so you don't scratch other coins in holders. That would create PMD for sure.

    First, get those staples pressed flat. My first thought was a die issue, like the die is worn.
