    Those are breaks in the copper plating of the planchet. When it was struck, the plating broke. It is not an error and is not worth a premium to most collectors.

    I think he means the crack running through the E. Do you mean the crack running through the E? You can tell us, you know, this is a free country. You do not have to rely on our clairvoyance.

    It doesn't look like a die crack to me.

    Thank you all so much I was talking about the silver on left and right side and the bottom and the top up some of the alphabet. Thank you all so very much

    As mentioned, a break or sort of tear in the plating. That is NOT silver you are seeing but the exposed Zinc.
    Your Cent is Copper plated Zinc.

    Yes this is a 1990 penny. There are a lot more breaks that do not show up on camera. Thanks allot.

    Now there's a question. You want to try and loosen something up without damaging the coin. Try an acetone soak. Buy it, e.g., at Walgreens. Beyond that, we have to see what you're dealing with, as some things are harder to get off than others.
