Take a look at this mercury and tell me what you think... I think it might be under-graded.. I'm thinking it could easily be graded MS66FB - think it is worth sending in to be regraded, or just keep it in the 80s rattle holder?... Thoughts?

Perhaps send it to CAC, where it might get a gold bean. That way you get to keep the old holder, and it will be designated as a superb example.

John Albanese is quoted as saying a coin with a gold sticker is one that could “easily green sticker at the next highest grade level.”

I have a Morgan that has a CAC green sticker... Do you think a MS64 with a CAC green sticker is worth more than if i got it regraded and it got a MS64+? (It was graded in the 80s before they gave the "+" designation.)

Is the CAC sticker worth it to collectors?

With only a $15 price difference from 65-66 FBL there is probably more value in the rattler holder than an upgrade. It would also cost about that for the regrade. I would leave it in the rattler and let the coin speak for itself since many collectors already know many coins from that era were under-graded by today's standards. I often see fairly graded rattler holdered coins sell for a grade above.

FBL? That's a term for Franklins.

As far as the green sticker goes, it means it's rock solid for the grade in CAC's view. Yes, some collectors will pay a premium for it, though the asking prices sometimes get absurd.
