Why does Larry think that people will pay a buck to see a picture of the coin? I can see pictures of it for free at Coinfacts and the original ebay listing; not-to-mention, his avatar.

Aaaand we veer into self-promotion. :(

I'm no expert on the broader coin market, but I have to imagine the coin-image PPV market is a bit small for making up even your initial outlay on the coin. In fact, you might have trouble making back its face value.

An NGC form has a place where you indicate what type of coin you're claiming (MS, PF, SP). It's been a while since I looked at a PCGS form. Do they have that too? What did the OP claim if so?

Nothing about this coin in particular yet. The cert will be poofed before we hear anything from them.

You've managed to burn away any sympathy I might have had for what you're going through. I hope you get everything that's coming to you.

    Note to @Larry Pelf :

The VAST majority of "coin experts" are nothing of the sort, even if they make a fulltime living in the field. Even the ICTA and PNG are struggling with that problem, as it's starting to erode their prestigious standing. This field is teeming with charlatans who nonetheless make a nice buck doing it. It's more about hubris than actual knowledge.

Heck, look at syndicated radio. Speak with a confident sounding baritone voice and you can get millions of people to believe utter garbage.

I hope this is a joke, no one in their right mind would ever pay just to see photos of a coin.

Not only did they get the manufacture method wrong (proof?), they also over-graded it by at least 1 if not 2 points for the "purdy" toning. PCGS is really off their rocker lately.

@Larry Pelf can believe what he wants to believe, but there is no transmutation or deity intervention here that's going to change that coin into a Matte Proof. You can't help those who don't want to be helped.

But But But a real matte proof expert claims the coin is just an earlier die state of the known examples that are out there. Thats why you dont see any markers, they werent on the die yet. Plus, the coins toned, so thats why you cant see his sharp squared off rims.

Sounds like some idiot, is filling this guys pipe with dope.

Yes, you're right. I goofed on that. I input the wrong number and didn't realize it till later. I couldn't figure out how to edit my post.
    Sorry about that.
I still am extremely skeptical about the coin. Just my little opinion but I honestly don't see that as a proof.

Right, PCGS charges $10 to take the those TrueViews, but I've never heard of anyone trying to charge any sort of fee just so others can see their TrueViews. :vomit::vomit::vomit:

Since PCGS owns the rights to the TrueView the owner can't legally charge others to see the TrueView.

Not with that kind of "dope"... Perhaps a cigarette "dipped" in a certain substance would result in what we're seeing, but grass? No... ;)

Someone on the CU Forum reported it to PCGS, asking them to address it.
