Double check the 2000-P's for the enhanced Tail Feather design on the Reverse! These were minted for the Space Shuttle launch and some were prizes in Cheerios boxes and are worth a very high premium...especially in BU condition. See the link below for more information on the special release of these coins. http://home.earthlink.net/~smalldollars/dollar/page20c.html Frank

Huntsman, that's a great link you posted there - thanks! Ok, enough SAC-bashing!!! I've got the complete UNC set and all the proofs except the 2001. I think they're pretty cool. Gosh, if you COLLECT coins, they're "worth" whatever they're "worth" to you. I didn't know they had to have a certain value. In 1916, the 1916-D merc was worth exactly 10 cents.
However, by 1917 they were worth almost .20 cents. Now in one year what is those SAC things worth. If fact what will they be worth in a thousand years. I'll bet in the far future if you tried to spend one of those baby dollars, they'll arest you for trying to spend kids play money. :smile
What has happened to COLLECTING I can't believe the response. Who cares how much it is worth in a thousand years? As a collector, I would never call a coin that someone collected "play money". And no, it will never be illegal to spend them and no, you can't get arrested - at least in the REAL world. Why do people have to be so negative on this board. It's one thing to say that something will be worthless in a thousand years, but PLEASE do not insult my coin collecting tastes by calling it "play money".
Really? Back when I took second grade arithmetic in the dark ages before WW II, that was equal to one-fifth of one cent!
pc, they made millions and millions of sacagwea coins. you can go into a bank and even ask for a box of sacagwea coins for $1,000. we arn't being negative, just telling the truth. we could say "OMG!!! KEEP THOSE! IN 100 YEARS THEY WILL BE WORTH $1.50 EACH!!!" its not like were telling her to spend ikes or something, just modern golder dollars, that are worth well, $1. :smile
I wasn't being negative. I was just stating my feelings from the response I get when trying to spend those things. I have been trying to increase the notariety of the baby dollar coins since they came out. If I spend a half dollar people look at it and occationally make a snide remark. If I try to spend a $2 bill I really get some comments. But any time I've tried to spend those baby dollars, that is when I really get an ear full. I've had waitresses say loudly things like Hey is this play money. On commuter trains I've had conductors say See this coin changer? See any place for those? Best one I've run into was a homeless person. I handed him one of those and he got mad and said take this and give it back to your kids. No I wasn't being negative. Just fed up with those coins.
Funnily enough I was looking for some transatlantic trade for saca's just recently, of course three isn't many
It's called coin collecting for a reason, you collect what you want. It doesn't matter what they will be worth in 100 years. I have some in my collection and i think their neat. If a homeless person told me that, I'd probably punch the guy. He's homeless, homeless people shouldn't be picky.
