I can read that it is indeed from Bikanir. The gentleman on the right is my grandfather. I miss him and looking upon his image brings tears to my eyes. Any effort on your part to rejoin this coin with my family would of course be much appreciated. I am willing to pay for shipping.

In other words, it is ONE BEAUTIFUL COIN and I want it!

does anyon eknow the KM number for the coin? I think this one is unlisted.

 

Peter K. in "a world of coins" list it as a medal of Bikaner (Y 19) for the jubilee of Maharajah Ganga Singhji.

well its worth one rupee inscription on the right so i don't know how it can be termed as a medal

Nice coin. Looks good to me. Minted in 1937 to celebrate 50th anniversary of Reign of Raja Ganga Singh ji.

In earlier catalogs, this rupee coin was listed as Y#19 but I noticed it was dropped from recent Krause catalogs.Hopefully this will be added in next issue.

the Krause does mention this, but as a medal.. well.. I'm not sure..

In 2003 catalog, it's on page #1082. For some reason this entire state listing is dropped from 2004 onward catalogs.

It may be listed as Medallic issue in error. The coin sure has a denomination of one rupee and and was used to circulate for one rupee (The silver weight is same as other one rupee coins from that era)

Not something that I collect but I do like the front and would be tempted if I came across one, it is a fine looking coin
