A couple weeks ago I came across a Crispus coin at auction. I really didn't have any clue about the history of Crispus, I just really liked the coin and it was cheap! So now after reading about Crispus in the thread that was posted a bit ago (https://www.cointalk.com/threads/crispus.289869/) I'm hooked! I've decided to put together a little Crispus camp gate collection. So for I've got Cyzicus, Heraclea and Rome. Once I get all the mints I'm going to go after the variations. It seems Alexandria is going to be the toughest one to get. Does anyone here have any Crispus Alexandria camp gates??
Please share any Crispus or any coin you like!

Oops. (I posted this earlier in the Crispus thread by mistake)

This is one is rough. Letters below campgate appear to be MIOB? Seems to have a bit of silver wash. I only have a few Roman coins, almost all very low grade. Just looked at a list of mint marks and could not find MIOB.

Hard to tell what the third letter is but the first two are going to be SM (whether or not they look like that on your coin). "Sacra Moneta", and the third letter will indicate the mint city, and the B is for the second officina of this mint. Looks like there's a dot after the B.

Seeing the obverse would help pin it down as would reading the reverse legend. Dane Kurth has some excruciatingly detailed spreadsheets for these campgates and with enough bits of information from your coin, you can find its RIC number from these spreadsheets. (Scroll down this page to the campgates spreadsheet)

Looks like SMKB・(Cyzicus) to me but the oblique lighting made funny shadows on the coin.

Very nice OP campgate (love the turrets); also nice shields and altars above.

Thanks. Agree that it is SMKB. Don't know how I missed it. Sorry for the poor lighting. I am not set up for good photos.
