Nuts on a label. Nuts with more money than you or I, Eddie.

BTW, just going by the images, that is one ugly hunk of coin........

The toning on that thing is hideous. I vote bidding on the sticker and pop data

I can't see this coin at that grade and finger prints all over it! What a joke...... that's one ugly puppy.

I for one think that has a toning that fits into only certain sets. I am not a bidder on this. I spent my end of the month extra on some Indians and Jeffersons.

The only way I can make any sense of this grade is the reverse carried it.

Here's another one that will go for big money with poor eye appeal because registry competitors will probably bid it up...

    Ugly High Grade

Did you see the mark above JFK's lip, the double mark in his hair, and the wear in his hair? Or are they calling those "contact marks"?

I count atleast 5 major hits / bag marks on the obverse. Some spots and chatter on the reverse and the toning is blah. Did pcgs screw the pooch?

That double mark in his hair doesn't look like coin contact I've ever seen. The mark by his lip looks like coin contact but it's on the face as opposed to in the field and for that reason should bear more significantly on the grade, I'd think.

There's quite a bit of bidding that makes little sense in Heritage auctions. Frequently it involves some sort of toning.

It may not deserve the grade it's got. However, with a little dip (oops, conservation) by PCGS, which would maintain the grade on the slab, it would probably be a good buy at present price. Fully brilliant ones go for almost $2K. Am I gonna bid? Not a chance!

If you offered me that coin for free I wouldn't take it.

That's right about the dip, I forgot that. Of course one has to know what one's doing, but assuming that, even so-called "AT" probably can be dipped out, after buying the coin for a song, so to speak. But of course one's not going to dip out those deep hits on the obverse.

If anything, I would say the reverse is worse than the obverse. Check out that big chunk taken out of the tip of the eagle's wing.
