Found recently CRH this 1997-D dime. Both obverse and reverse have clear fine lines that look to be some form of improper cleaning/polishing of the dies. Not in bad condition either for being 28 years old. Any help from the pros would be much appreciated.

Looks like die polishing lines to me.

After a die clash the area left of the profile gets hit hard. Heavy die polishing needed IMG_6963.jpeg

I think the obverse of the dime the OP posted has this type of error.
The whole left side just in front of Franklin's face look like one large scrape, and the lines on the right are all very perpendiculer to each other and the left side.

The vertical lines on the left side of the reverse are a bit more subtle, and do look like die cleaning lines to me.

I agree with a polished out die clash mark.
