Found CRH recently. The first part of the motto is obliterated, and it extends up to the top of the L. Maybe around the mouth as well, hard to say. The coin is in fairly good condition for its age, and there is luster in the fields both obverse and reverse, and even in the struck through area. To me this is similar to the 2021 Lincoln's that have recently posted. Thoughts?

Wear patterns leave it approx. AU55, but with the strike through the value is around $5.95-6.95, best guess. I say “guess” because there is so much latitude in the values of this type of error coin; someone might value it higher and another vice-versa. But I’ve seen similar values listed on USA Coinbook…Spark

Appreciate the grade Spark, I was thinking strong XF45, but the 80s dies were typically well used and a lot of soft strikes. Not that I really care about the value, I do this for the thrill of the find, but curious how you came up with the estimate?

Not an estimate, I have seen this price range on at least 2 sites for minor varieties: doubling, rpm, clashing and strike through to name 4.

Reiterate: minor. For more prominent variety features the prices swell by subjective factors: demand, rarity, availability, etc.

They almost have to remain in the subjective realm because of variables. You may find a great clash or strike through that exhibit a lot of original luster with good eye appeal but also have it suffer a stain or spot of corrosion. If you were assessing a coin for anyone, including yourself, you have to take into consideration all the pluses and minuses found on both sides to render a proper one, whether it was intended for sale or not.

The grade was from those found as examples on PCGS Photograde…Spark
