1941 over 1940 dime?

    This 1941 mercury dime appears to have the one over a phantom 0. Is that possible?

    I "see" the 0, but it can't be an overdate. If you compare the illusion on your coin to a 1940 date, you will see neither the position nor shape of the supposed 0 matches 1940. This is from PCGS price guide site:
