Howdy All: It seems my CT account was hacked after 18-August-2025 to today, 4-Sep-2025. If there was any correspondence with this account during that time period, it was not me. I regret if anything bad had happened during that period. I worked with @lordmarcovan, and @GDJMSP was able to identify and fix this problem. A kind thanks to both of them, and especially to Doug for getting it fixed! The Alegandron CT account is back under my control again. Kindest Regards, @Alegandron Brian
Thanks for the follow-up! FWIW, when I saw "you" post an ad for gold below spot, I reported the post right away, figuring it was the same kind of hijacking we've seen before. I didn't try to DM you, because I figured that would just go to the hijackers. Wondering if we could get some guidance from @GDJMSP or the mods on what else we can do when we spot suspicious posts...?
Thank you. No, I would not post gold under spot, I like it too much! @lordmarcovan told me about that posting. Not from me.
Awesome that you fixed it. Didn't know about you being hacked until I saw your post. Hackers are the worst!!
I did the same thing. An ancient collector selling modern gold $180 under spot wasn’t very believable.
I just received a notice that Trans Union has been hacked. Sure gives one a feeling of confidence when a major credit reporting bureau's walls have been breached.
I was out of town without access to a computer (I know, hard to believe), so I couldn't give anybody a heads-up. He got me for about $1,500.00. I've disputed the issue with PayPal, but I don't expect it to be resolved. I appreciate the real @Alegandron[/USER] reaching out to me himself. P.S. It was not gold.
It might be worth reporting as mail fraud. Conventional wisdom back in the day was that the folks who investigate mail fraud were more motivated and dedicated than the folks who investigate eBay/PayPal disputes.
