its a 1917 league of nations poster ive had for about 20 years and wondering if anyone around here might know anything about it. not worried about the value so much.

Did you try a google image search yet?

    • Era Authenticity: If it's an original print from the WWI period (1914–1918), it could be worth $100 to $500+, depending on condition and rarity.
    • Condition: Tears, fading, or water damage can significantly reduce value. A well-preserved, framed version is more desirable.
    • Provenance: If it has a documented history or was part of a notable collection, that boosts its appeal.
    • Artist or Publisher: Posters by known illustrators or publishers (e.g., James Montgomery Flagg or the Committee on Public Information) tend to fetch higher prices.

I don't know for sure. Since the listing said the frame can be removed upon request, my guess is the frame was included but the shipping cost could have been lower if the buyer chose not to take the frame.

i dont trust google that much - internet hasnt been that trustworthy when it comes to some antiques. it says on the back its been refit cleaned deacified and acid free backing. i wouldnt try to reframe it again. and if its worth nothing jokes on me eh? i still like it.

I think the auction result is legitimate. Google was used to find the website. The "AI" info google provides at the top of searches is hit or miss (sometimes wild misses) but that is not where the auction listing came from.

It's fun to look up your old stuff but often disappointing in terms of value. I still have my Matchbox cars from the 60s, some in pretty good shape, but the most valuable thing is probably a pristine original box. And the Klingon warship model box is probably more valuable than the stamp collection inside it.

Very nice original Underwood framed poster from 1917. At $20.00 someone got a great deal as it should go for around $100.00. I believe the size is around 22” x 27”.
