1970s lincon penny

Im new to this Site.ive been .collecting coins for bout a year.i have lots of cuestiona .so please bear wi th me.

So far it looks to me like Post Strike Damage.
Maybe from a coin roll wrapper machine. They tend to make those nasty circular scratches around the coins.
You always should post pictures of both sides of any coin.

You will likely find these a lot on the end coins in a roll when the machine crimps the ends inward.

 

Yes.. if you stick the wrapper into the crimping machine to hard it could do some crazy damage

There were no varieties in 1996 so it's a normal cent that was probably purchased in a gift shop with the punched map.
