Hi all, I wanted to share another acquisition of an error coin. This is a 1981 P Dime missing 90% of its Clad Layer on the Reverse side.. Enjoy
That's interesting @paddyman98 ! It's interesting to note that the rim is almost nonexistent above AMERICA which might suggest that there was a problem while going through the upsetting mill. On the other hand, the legend and all of the devices appear to be well-struck. Do you have any theories about how this happened? Chris
Thanks everyone. It now goes with my ever growing collection of Defective Clad Layers - From my collection
Fantastic collection! You always have the coolest errors! Are any pulled by you from circ and slabbed?
Some are. I have submitted all types of errors to NGC over the years. But the majority I purchase at Coin Shows, shops and on-line. About 15% of my collection are my submissions. I have 8 error coins at NGC coming to me soon so be on a lookout for them! I will talk about one that is very rare.. sneak peek A 1 Dollar golden blank planchet with Defective Clad. Has a bubble!
