This one was supposed to be an album upgrade / filler, but I don't think I have it in me to put it in my album! My Lincoln album has certainly seen better days and some of the slides aren't quite "pristine" so putting this into it will almost certainly result in this coin getting those "slide scratches" which I absolutely want to avoid.

I think this might get a RB designation (if graded) and I'm guessing something like a MS63 or 64? Honestly, I'm not very great at guessing Lincoln grades. It's a niche that I haven't quite gotten into as much as other types, but I look at PCGS and their pictures of graded coins often enough to call myself a semi-amateur numismatist so that's my shot in the dark at it.

It almost looks like a bit of a woody Lincoln when zoomed in a bit on my scope but not as much as others in-hand that I have that really show it off in the right lighting. If you like collect Lincoln wheaties, what do you think this might grade out as? Just a regular Brown, Red-Brown? I have every doubt in the world it would get Red, so we can just ignore that part I suppose.

Any help, advice, comments, suggestions or whatever else would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Evidence of wear exists on the eyebrow, nose, cheek, jaw and collar of suit. Also on the base of both wheatears on the reverse. AU58+.

Your pics exhibit the coin with a brassy color, maybe try different lighting, but probably RB.

The striations do not look like part of the alloy. Instead, they appear to be environmental in nature.

Nice coin. Have you found a match for the RPM at Wexler or VV?…Spark

Yup, stage D with the die crack forming. The late stage might also be attributing to the lack of details expected. And this coin is very strange with the color... it looks pretty different in person than is showing in the pictures. It's certainly got a reddish color to it and looks like it's turning brown, so I'm guessing red-brown.

It's hard to see through the toning (coloring or whatnot) but I'm seeing what looks like die polishing lines by the chin and nose in the fields. Did wheatie dies usually get this type of treatment or am I just assuming so incorrectly?

A nice looking coin but I’m not seeing the S over a horizontal S.

That tiny little triangle sticking out on the mintmark in the first set of photos is it. Stage D dies according to Variety vista

I’m just not seeing it but then, I’m not a variety guy.

I thoroughly enjoy different varieties, but I understand that there are those who aren't necessarily keen on them. I wholly intended to put this into my album but I think it would just get scratched up if I do because I'm a curious fellow and like to look at my stuff lol
