I wanted to share this awsome looking dime i have with you and hopefully someone could share some feed back with me about it.I do know it does not look like a normal clad error infact it looks more like a kind of dark burnt golden brown, and there are the lettering from a penny imbeded all over this dime i believe it could be a real great find again please share your knowledge and feed back with me thank you. I have decided to submit this coin for certification and grading. sorry pictures taken from my tablet one of the pictures looks a little blurry but bothside are identical in color and theres no major blemishes.
In my honest opinion.. don't even bother. Looks like simple Environmental Damage, exposure to the elements.
it is actually a very nice coin in person and it doesnt seem to have any sort of where at all plus when you add on the fact that there are letters and partial words from a penny ill take a shot but thanks again for your opinion
I have been digging them up looking like yours for years! Also. If it were a Cent planchet, it would not fit fit into the Dime chamber to be struck since it's bigger.
I really don't see what you are talking about. But if you say you see these letters, are they incused into the Dime? Do they read backwards? That is what is called PMD - post mint damage. Altered coin. Don't waste your money sending it to a TPG!
it is not pmd and those dimes you have look nothing like this one but its ok because the pictures do the coin no justice ill try to put up better ones later
ok buddy.. Good luck with that Dime. I have been doing this for decades. I know what I'm talking about. That's it for my comments.
i know what i am looking at and its cool i asked and you responed again i respect your comments have a good 1
I also just see a normal dime that has environmental damage. Maybe you can post better pictures and point out what you are seeing.
yes i do agree those pics are not good at all i will be reposting them with a much higher quality camera thank you for your feedback the camera keeps turing the photo dull for some reason
From the looks of the reverse of the coin,i say someone put this in some kind of acidic solution. The reverse looks pitted as if something was eating away at the top layer of the coin.
It was found lying in the grass on or the ground with dirt for some time to give it that color. It's definitely Environmentally Damaged. Worth 10 cents and not a cent more.
He doesn't want to listen to you. He thinks he knows everything. Forget it! A fool and his money are soon parted. Chris PS. You know darn good and well, that we will never hear from him again about this coin after he throws his money down the proverbial "I know more than you even though I've only been collecting a few hours" drain.
i did take more pictures of the dime LIKE I SAID ITS NOT ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE look at the pictures real good the dime is double died to hell or something i hope the pictures are a little clearer because of the color of the coin the camera lighting needs to be adjusted sso please keep in mind that the original post is how thw coin looks under sunlight but the tone of the coin is actually like theres a shine to it thats why the lighting is tricky so the photos had to be taken in this adjusted state to hopefullt help you all see what it is i am seen and theres a whole lot more up close under MAG
