With regards to the coin I posted above: I sent the seller a couple of e-mails, he offered a return privilege. When I suggested he send the coin to David Sear to be examined (and I offered to pay double if it was real) he immediately canceled the sale. I guess that answers the authenticity question!
I received my two from CNG today. They are MUCH better in hand, as their photos were too detailed. Very happy!
I've received everything mentioned in my previous post. Now I'm waiting for two more coins. It's a never-ending cycle.
They arrived today: RRC 196/1 as (star) RRC 428/3 denarius (Cassia 7) RIC 253 denarius (Augustus) Very happy with them ATB, Aidan.
My Triton coins got delivered to the wrong address today, Registered mail. The USPS carrier told his supervisor that there were a bunch of red letters (registered mail) and he just assumed they were all going to the same place. She said "you didn't check the address of each Registered parcel?!?!" Nope. Supposedly, they will attempt to retrieve the package tomorrow, read the correct address this time, and deliver it to me. Supposedly.
My coin from the UK arrived Monday. Haven't had time to do a write up or anything yet. Funny thing about it, the seller refused to send it to my PO box claiming Royal Mail Registered Signature Tracking would not allow delivery to a PO box. I tried to explain I pay for the PO box because it is more secure than my home address. Plus, International Registered Mail is treated like First Class mail by the USPS anyway. That wouldn't do. So, I had to provide my home address for delivery. This is the USPS tracking. Ironically, I didn't sign for anything, nor was it left with me or anyone else. Currently awaiting a package from Pegasi. Hopefully it will arrive by the end of the week.
Not sure if you happened to read my post a few pages back, but I had the same exact issue a few weeks ago, and they actually did go back and retrieve my package and they redelivered it correctly to me, so there's some hope your PO will live up to its word.
Triton has landed! And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans while marveling at magnificent Roman Republican denarii...
Very nice! I received my Antony denarius. It's on a small flan, which I was worried about at first, but forum members said the weight and size were within the usual range. I guess Antony was trying to stretch out his stock of silver. The detail was nice and I've already typed up a tag and put it in a flip. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
I've got nothing whatsoever coming in the mail. I don't think I've actually ordered a single thing this year yet. I may have to change that...
Superb scores! Though, if it's just the same to you, I'll skip the sloth and orangutan while I marvel at them.
