Ok here is my 92 D. There is double die all over this thing! But I only took a pic off the small print so no one can say mechanical die . This is clearly a DD. Not the best pic but if u zoom in you will see it. So let's say I have the gold ticket. What would be the worth of an unknown DD 92 D penny? 20170129_142057.jpg

It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and not a cent more.

Honestly sir that's with anything. I guess my real question is, is this double die?

to be honest, it looks like a 2001-2008 zinc cent, with massive wear, possible bubbles, zinc rot, etc...

It is MD at best. Notice that each side of the separation lines you see are much smaller each than a normal letter. With a DD, the total width would be 1 normal width + a part of the second, or thicker than a normal letter.

Yes sir thank you. But question. Now if there is dding. And i know it's worse for wear. But if this is the only known specimen, wouldn't mean it wouldn't be face value due to the rarity of it?

Yes, if this was the only one in existence it would be worth a good amount of money. However, it is machine doubling. I am no where near being an expert, you are asking the wrong person. May I ask, did you find this as pocket change?

Edit: It would be worth a good amount of money to me if it was the only one.

Thanks this is very helpful but as I look at it that's not what it looks like the M.D. on the pic I understand now but the penny is not in that format

Me either this is all helpful I take all input. As I look at M.D. on the pic above the penny is not doing that. This is one one would have to put eyes on not a pic. And yes sir I did

That is your opinion. I don't agree with you. This occurrence is common and has no added premium.

If it's common do show me another. At this point Cain t find one. Just find me one and I'll say it's common n let it go
