17th coin graded by PCGS sells on GC for 6 figures!

    Likely with the case of the BU 81-S coins, the graders,

    ..... sorry I didn't finish that. I meant to say the graders probably get tired of seeing PL 81-S's, so they likely just slap the MS grade with no PL. After all, the graders are who determines the value to most coins, sad but true.

    Must've went to reply to this then saw Lehigh's post on the NGC old slab.
    That's definitely a cool one. It would be way more affordable than the PCGS holder, on the grounds that PCGS loyalists would snootily "turn down" the slab. I sure wouldn't diss it if it was a fair price.

    The NGC black is around a $10k slab in today's market. There have been several sold at GC in the 8k-14k range.
