Hey Everyone, thanks to @iPen we have a google sheets file that everyone can edit and add their parts to. He was kind enough to provide us all the specs (weight, dimensions, mintage) for each coin so you don't have to! It auto saves what you input and if you accidentally delete something, it allows me to pull up previously saved files. If you want to add your portion, jump on in! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uPDDFNHLsRZ4zzEu5pWEFTcaTPWLE6Y8NuZb9RpKq4o/edit?usp=sharing
Hey Folks, just a reminder to please get me your descriptions in by the 15th. I intend to consolidate and edit what is in on the 16th and go from there. If you haven't joined in on the fun or already have and want to do another description, please message me!
You can email me at I removed it due to bots harvesting and selling to scamers and such. Please use 'conversations' ~~and I can email descriptions. You can ask me for specific coin descriptions.
Let me know if you still need a 3" replica of the 1927 SLQ, I'd be happy to order it and ship it directly to you.
I do have one of each, but can always use duplicates so more than one person could hold the same coin. Just so you know, if you buy in bulk, you get a bigger discount
And we received another volunteer! Keep them coming, and for those who volunteered, please shoot me your descriptions. I'm working on consolidating and will be reaching out to you personally. Here's what's left for grabs: 1972 S Lincoln Memorial Cent 1877 Shield Nickel 1885 Liberty Head Nickel 1985 Jefferson Nickel 1927Standing Liberty 1972 Washington Quarter 1976 Bicentennial Quarter 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Half Dollar 1922 Peace Dollar 1971 Eisenhower Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Dollar 1882 Liberty $20.00 Gold
It wouldn't be reasonable of me to handle the Morgan Dollar if I were not also willing to take care of the Peace. @Cascade, this is where you step in for the Ike & Bicentennial...
Haha, it's like you can read my mind. I mentally had you pegged for that one too; I'll mark you down. Here's what's left: 1972 S Lincoln Memorial Cent 1877 Shield Nickel 1885 Liberty Head Nickel 1985 Jefferson Nickel 1927Standing Liberty 1972 Washington Quarter 1976 Bicentennial Quarter 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Half Dollar 1971 Eisenhower Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Dollar 1882 Liberty $20.00 Gold
Okay folks, we are moving along, thank you to all of those who have been involved so far and please keep volunteering! I have the following descriptions in so far: $20 St Gaudens 1916 D Mercury Dime 2000 P Sacagawea Dollar Flying Eagle Cent Indian Head Cent Walking Liberty Half Dollar. This sheet has most of the legwork done, all you need to do is the description, why it was minted in the first place, and some fun facts: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uPDDFNHLsRZ4zzEu5pWEFTcaTPWLE6Y8NuZb9RpKq4o/edit?usp=sharing Also, I just messaged everyone who volunteered but hasn’t submitted yet, I’m hoping to get those submissions by the end of the week.
I have been watching this post and wish I could have helped! It looked so FUN! I do hope you DO post some more pictures of the event when it does happen! I enjoyed the Pictures you posted of the visually impaired on the initial inspection process. I ran to my little bucket to see if I had what you needed! However, as I scrolled down, being a youngin...well..we all have dreams. I just know I have something somewhere that IS GOOD!
More photos to come soon. If you want to help, there are still a few coins that have not been described fully if you want to take a swing: 1972 S Lincoln Memorial Cent 1877 Shield Nickel 1885 Liberty Head Nickel 1985 Jefferson Nickel 1927Standing Liberty 1972 Washington Quarter 1976 Bicentennial Quarter 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Half Dollar 1971 Eisenhower Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Dollar 1882 Liberty $20.00 Gold
These need to be done. Also, what did you mean by 1979 Liberty Dollar? 1972 S Lincoln Memorial Cent 1877 Shield Nickel 1885 Liberty Head Nickel 1985 Jefferson Nickel 1927Standing Liberty 1972 Washington Quarter 1976 Bicentennial Quarter 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Half Dollar 1971 Eisenhower Dollar 1976 Bicentennial Dollar 1882 Liberty $20.00 Gold
My public library has a 3d printer. Do you need these 3 bicentennials 3d printed? If so what size? Both sides? I am not sure how it works, however I will look into it.
I was hoping to make a 3D printed $0.99 cents change holder for freebies, and perhaps coin factoids on it for the rarer small cents with "Close and Wide AM", and the quarters... (3) 1/4$'s, (2) nickels, (4) small cents, (1) thin dime. Something kids can look forward too. I like what you're presenting for the children. I would suggest getting familiar with, and by reading literature about coins.
Forgive me ACoinJob, I am only trying to help. Yes, I am new to coins. I do have my Red book and have been reading it. If you are looking for a small pinch plastic change holder for the kids for your $0.99 Idea, I would suggest Oriental Trading company. As far as a Bifold starter factiod coin slot, you are best to look on the back of the manufacture of some of the ones that you may already own of the more advanced ones. I am certain they would be willing to donate to the cause. Also, Discovery is also a place to look for donations for items like that.
UPDATE: to ACoinJob, the coin "purses" are now considered vintage. They are very expensive. Even made to order. Loved your Idea!
I used to have a change purse pinch type. I used to colllect them as well. I lost track of them over the years, but also wanted to help. I was offering a 3D printed solution to having a 3D printed loupe on a Credit Card sized holder, with flip open factoid sheets, so as to teach young ones what to look for with examples. I will post a photo of my 2D drawing in my profile for starters. Thanks for the heads up.
