No, it's not a troll. He actually believes this stuff, which makes it all the more uncomfortable.

the only way to prove it is when he wastes his money sending it in for grading, only to have it returned as a regular ol cent.

You're right, it absolutely is a troll thread. Like I said earlier, he pulled this same crap a few years back, disappeared for a while, and only fairly recently returned with nothing having changed in his approach. His profile is also conveniently blocked, so it's not as easy to search his body of "work" and identify what this really, but here are a few of the many examples of the "Best of Rare-Tim"....

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1992d-fs-901.254160/
    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1992-d-close-am-cent-possibly-found.249155/page-2#post-1960272

Notice how he claims to be submitting the coin yet we never hear the "results"? There were a bunch of threads on this particular coin.

And another thread in which he found the big one and even posts photos of a genuine example, but we're supposed to buy that he actually believes this crap...

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1958-p-doubled-die.255479/

And here's another magical find of his that just happens to be another 69-S DDO... (see the pattern?)

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1969s-1c-ddo-001.250196/

Another claim of impending submissions never to be mentioned again...

I'm not one to label people as trolls, but the evidence suggests otherwise. People have been executed based on less.

Solid investigative work, Books. Further confirmation that in nearly 3 years, Rare Tim hasn't found a single REAL DDO. Nor has he followed up by posting his failed results.

Come on, why are people so upset? Have some of you been looking for 1969-S DDO? Because I believe I just sent one in, you don't have to. If it isn't a doulbled die, I'm not the only one that was wrong... But if it come back what I sent it off to be, I'll be one of the few.

You can't be that upset. It isn't that serious, it was only around 150.00 to get them graded. I save well.

Your right it's your money to do what you want with I don't think that's why ppl are upset I think has more to do with you posted a coin saying it was a doubled die and when others said it wasn't you called them novice and noobs. Some of these guys been doing this for 30 years plus for a living so I could see why they got upset, personally I don't care if it is or isn't a doubled die it affects me in no way so good luck with it.

I ASK, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE.

Believe me when I say that I have sent out to the PCGS what I believe to be are a 1972 1C DDO FS-104(033.54), (RS), a 1970-S 1C LD DDO FS-101(FA-029), (RS), and of course the 1969-S Doubled Die Obverse, (RS)... (INCONCEIVABLE GROUP RIGHT)this thread has gotten a little out of hand, I apologize for that. I took....... a lot of photos of the three coins and I know I said I wasn't going to upload any more, I feel obligated to show this one though. I hope opinions stay the same and ask again, please do not respond to this. IMG_9102.JPG
