Proof 1880 IHC

    Here's an IHC that was an impulse buy. I saw it while browsing through some Heritage lot boxes a couple of years ago and decided to bid on it. It's graded PCGS PR65RB. The images are by Bob Campbell and I think he did an excellent job.

    That's....breathtaking. Not far from Cameo, either. The Mint was hitting on all cylinders with IHC Proofs, and I'm afraid I'm gonna have to have one for myself down the road. :)

    Beautiful coin! I LOVE proof IHCs.

    Is it just the photo, or are the diamonds that faint? The rest of the detail on the coin looks really sharp, I was curious.

    I've seen this before on various IHCs that are otherwise clearly high AU, MS, or high PR. Needless to say, I don't go by the diamonds when I grade them.
