2000 Olympic Participation Medal - These Prices are Crazy!

Found this at the coin shop yesterday in their tokens bin. It's a 2000 Sydney Olympic participation medal, gotten for about $1.


Here are sold comps on Ebay (items 1 and 3):


It weighs just over 68 grams, and the accepted offers were likely in the $60s, so I wonder if it's silver.

Anybody have information on this?

I've found others on various sites, but no one says what its composition is. Check the edge for a .999 or .925 marking.

That is an average of $60 between the 2..... I've never seen such crazy prices on a modern token. Of course, I've never owned an Olympic medal, but I now know to grab 'em up.
