I have an 1825 British Farthing in ef condition. My question is about the 5 on the date. Can anyone tell from looking at the pic whether this is the 5 stamped over a weaker 5 they talk about?

One clear, in-focus close-up was more than adequate. It may be too late, now, to edit your post to remove the extraneous pics…however… After searching cointrails.com and 150+ auction results going back to 2004, no mention was listed for a “5 over weak 5” variety. Undaunted, I checked 4 other sources for UK coinage and finally found a listing for “5 over higher 5” that seems to match your coin at: allcoinvalues.com. The bad news is it is considered a common variety. The good news is a normal (no overdate) coin in EF is was listed for $48.00USD. But prices for current auction versus previous auction coins were all over the place, so you will have to sort it out the best you can to get a ballpark value for your coin. See what happens when you post a good close-up? BTW…I really like the coin. Farthings have been one of those under-the-radar coins for a long time and are just now beginning to remarkably rise in prominence. Regards, Spark
