This is for all of you out there who know that the US has never really minted a penny, only cents. Its been a long time coming, thats all I have to say.
satootoko or Roy would definately be the one who would be very ticked off over this. Looks like he really retired these days.
If you can make me the coin that looks like that, it will be worth 50 cents, becuase that's what I'll pay for it....lol.
Wow, put me down for two pieces. And if that is really quick, what the heck can you do if you take your time?
The original post has a brown Lincoln head superimposed on a red-brown English penny, with Britannia's feet still showing. You gotta give Rotobeast a big thumbs up for matching the colors of his elements, and not showing unnecessary parts of the base coin..
If I took my time, I'd start with a rimmed blank penny, so the fields would be clean. I merely blurred out the one I done. You can see some dark areas where it doesn't match very well. Then, I'd probly go in on Lincoln, pick some features to form into a new layer, then bevel them a little bit to make it pop.
Ah so many people in the Music and Movie industry say differently. That is why we have songs like: Pennies from heaven, Penny Lover, Penny For a Thought, Penny on the Floor, Penny Serenade and several million kids saying pennies. As far as they are concerned there just ain't no such thing as a Cent.
If I called it a cent around my friends, they would all laugh at me. All the cool kids are saying, "penny" these days.
Everyone always called it a penny back in the day as well. This reminds me of all the times people think I'm clinically insane when I call a tomato a fruit.
But its NOT a penny. :-D Even if you're shooting for something more like intrinsic value, the large cents were closer to the size of British halfpennies. So perhaps we should call them all halfpennies? :-D Ya, I know my photoshop is weak. 15 seconds is the most time i felt like spending on it. Lol.
We should all remember this is America and we do not speak English, we speak American. We can call anything anything and eventually it becomes what we call it. My parents used to yell at me for saying AIN'T but now it's in the dictionary. A Quarter is two bits. Half dollars are halves. A dollar is a buck. Five dollars are fins. We are what we are, Americans and we can call anything whatever we want and it will be just that.
