I got one of the 1917 Peace. As I noted elsewhere, it's a shame the Mint can't see beyond its nose and realize this would be a splendid real coin to honor WWI vets.

Placed my order too. Now I'll have enough for ANACS 5 token minimum with my other Carr items I wanted to get graded.

Well, when one is a "great artist" who has openly claimed to not doing it for the money, you tell me.

It started in post #6, which means now is the time to resort to playing the "who, me?" victims. ;)

    "Great artists" gotta live, too.

I'd be willing to bet that the 2oz medal is way better than anything the US Mint puts out. My only complaints are:
    1. Dan, you're putting out too much stuff. I can hardly keep up! Don't become like the US Mint.
    2. I would rather have seen it come out in 2018 to commemorate the war ending rather than 1917 (the 100th anniversary of the US entering the war).
    3. I'd have tried to change ONE DOLLAR to REMEMBER, or left off a denomination entirely.

Guys, the reeded edge 999 version for $80 seems to have a final mintage of only 50! I know it's going to suck to have to pay shipping again but if you want one, and with a mintage like that who won't, you better get one NOW. It's already on the CU forum so I bet there's going to be a rush on them now.

My funds are low currently and I was going to wait to get this one but I had to bite the bullet and get one with only 50 being struck...

And here is where it shows that the final mintage of the reeded edge will be 50...

Had to get me a broken sword, high relief after all the commotion about it. Thanks you guys, you made me spend $185 that I really couldn't afford. :(

You don't want to know what I spent that I couldn't really afford right now. Dan has a knack of releasing stuff I want at the wrong time lol... But its worth it! :)

Besides the reeding, there seems to be no difference in the designs of the $45 and $80 versions correct?
While the mintage may be a factor, I would not be certain that the reeded version would do better in the aftermarket (especially since the pictures would look very similar and the $35 in extra upfront costs).

  18. I gave up chasing low mintage items. Demand is the key. Buy what you like and can afford.

We can be devils at times......just don't cross over to the 'haters'. :)

I got both but with only 50 made and a higher issue price you can bet it will go for more on the aftermarket. Especially if it's a quick sellout. I wonder why only 50 of the reeded edge though. Did the collar break or was it just a choice Dan made?

Low mintage don't mean 'Dip'.......unless ya want one.........and 'dip' was an analogy........but most of you savy folks caught on.......right?
