It (copilot) comes with my Microsoft 360 subscription. It comes in handy for editing manuscripts. I wouldn't trust it for anything else......

Absolutely negative. I don’t search garbage like that. Others on here are probably the same as I am. We don’t search that crap but it’s still on here.

FWIW, the price of Microsoft 365 increases on your next renewal to cover the cost of Copilot.

You can - for now - downgrade to a nonCopilot SKU, but you have to do this explicity.

I don't know, but I'm not particularly fond of his plagiarizing my posts!

The site owner won't like this, but all you have to do is install AdBlock for free, phone and desktop. I've never had anything explicit pop up, but there have been some "dating for seniors" type things.

It does seem like magic. Here's one summary of how it works. I allowed CT ads on my phone for a long time but it got too intrusive for me. https://cybernews.com/best-ad-blockers/how-ad-blocking-works/

My ad-blocker claims it has blocked 6.7 million ads... I've been using it for quite a while.

It says it has blocked 20 on this page alone... I turned it off briefly because there is no way that could be right... An absolute eyesore appeared and I counted at least 17 ads (I'm guessing some probably rotate and it counts those separately).

Who could ever exist on the internet with all that garbage? If you aren't using an adblocker, what are you doing with your life?

Mine says 5.3 million but I've only had this laptop for a couple years. I'll be generous and say 3 years. That's almost 5000 ads a day. And I don't visit all that many sites.

I don't begrudge "free" sites their income stream -- until they're shoving video ads over my metered mobile data connection, or blocking my content with ads.

Here, it's easy: I'm happy to throw Peter a few bucks a month, and I get no ads on my phone or laptop on this site.
