    I see something that looks a bit like a D, but it's in the wrong place.

    I'd guess Philadelphia if I had to -- if there were a mint mark, it would be a lot more visible on a coin with this level of wear.

    I think I see "S" when I compare it to this 1927-S I submitted to ANACS a couple of years ago.

    Again, the mintmarks on this issue simply don't disappear that quickly as the coin wears.

    And for the record, I don't speak French.......but I've always loved Sam Cook. Gone too soon.

    I see what looks like an "S" in the first photo; however, the bottom loop is too large. This is one for the microscope to look for any die breaks on the reverse. Many 27-S quarters have short verticle die polish lines into the field around Liberty's head. This may be too worn.

    Now that im sober i disagree, look how much wear there is in that area, you cant even see the bottom star. This is an AG3 coin or worse.
