I wonder if the multiple platform instance of these fraudulent postings are the result of duplicate passwords and user IDs on more than one coin/hobby forum. Doesn't stand to reason that all these sites have been hacked.
It seemed to have started at the PCGS and/or NGC forum (or at least that is my speculation) and I would guess people did have the same password.
This is as good a time as any to remind everyone about password hygiene. I've been a bit lax with my password here, because I figured "what would anyone be able to do if they DID get into my account?" I guess we've seen a pretty compelling demonstration of the answer.
I wish I had paid more attention to the alert that I got (see previous post). It may have been for more than one coin forum. It's certainly one of the more diabolical scams I've seen. My feeling though is kind of that's what you get when you mess with crypto. You're playing in shark infested waters.
I started using super long passwords and a different one for each site. Never figured someone would bother hacking me or a coin forum.
