Old Dollar Coin

    Going through some old coins I was given by my Mom. Can anyone tell me what this is please?

    Like they said it's a Morgan Dollar. Just checking, but are you aware that you should NOT clean coins? Cleaning a coin almost always lowers the value.

    Yes, a lesson learned the hard way. Used a pencil eraser to remove grime and I shouldn't have. Hard lessons are the ones hat teach you the best. Many thanks.

    I was collecting coins from the time I was old enough to say coin. I would sit in class shining all my cents with a pencil eraser. An eraser will bring out a shine on an old cent though they are also very pink. I thought I was doing good in my kid mind.
