What is it called when a gap is in the serial numbers?

Do you mean a raised digit?
That would be a Gas Pump serial number.

Photos please. It could be a skipped digit or a lack of ink but photos are needed.

I have tried for days to upload photos but my chrome browser will not do it. I keep getting error messages due to low memory. I don't know how to restore memory I've tried everything without success. So there won't be any pictures, sorry.
But I can give you the serial numbers and hopefully one of you can answer my question.

    The bills are uncut

Gotta see photos with a “gap”. Have you tried taking a photo with your cell phone, cropping and then posting?

It is a problem with my RAM
I just downloaded a new browser and factory reset my phone. Fingers crossed I fixed the problem.

Not seeing a gap but the serial numbers will be different as they are printed on large sheets. Once cut they are in order.
Glad you got your problem fixed.

Collecting Nut is correct. These are printed 32 per sheet. (Or were; I think now they are 50 per sheet.) Each bill on a sheet will wind up in a consecutively numbered stack of 100 notes (unless a defective sheet is replaced by a star note sheet) when cut, but the stacks will differ in their numbers, except for the final three digits, which will match on all bills on the sheet. Here is my uncut sheet of four $2 bills I bought as a souvenir of my visit to the Fort Worth, TX, Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Note the numbers.
