I do not own this coin I was looking on ebay just to see what was there and came across this. Am I overlooking the extra high leaf or is it not there? To ask that much for this just doesn't seem right to me.
I see scams like that listing all the time on eBay. It seems sometimes to me that there are more scam listings than legit listings.
Sal, could you please post larger photos of each variety so we can see the difference. The extra leaf variety, both high and low, were created by a disgruntled mint employee that scratched two different dies.
From NGC https://www.ngccoin.com/variety-plu...te-and-territorial-quarters-1999-2009/819484/ The scambay listing obviously ain't it. High: Low:
For $400 he/she could have plenty of cocoa puffs! When things like this arise on ebay I wonder why it is allowed to remain, seems like the site would hVe rules about false advertising.
It's awful. People that are new to the world of numismatics get the short end of the stick, can't learn or enjoy collecting because of these people posting junk like this. I look at every Wisconsin quarter I come across in hopes to find one some day.
@SensibleSal66 While your coins are very nice examples, they were purchased. I haven't purchased any of the coins I've collected. At all. I will eventually if I have to in order to complete a set, but until then I'm going to keep enjoying the hunt out here in the wild with circulation coins. I'm glad I don't gamble, for if I did I know 100% I would get addicted. Saying that based on the feeling I get when I'm going through change to see if I have anything to save. I could only imagine how I would feel/react if I gambled and won lol P.s. I'm not knocking the way you or anyone else collect. I think it's awesome if you have the extra money to purchase what you collect. Some of us collectors don't and that's why I have many many sets with empty holes lol
