With silver being on the upswing, I couldn't pass up the chance to trade out a little bit today. Or maybe I was bored... but likely a bit of both. Anyways, I brought some cull dimes and halves up to the LCS and came home with these.

Technically speaking, I suppose I didn't get any "coins" in return, as one is a hard times and the other is just bullion. He had a few other items that were out of my price range for today, so hopefully they'll still be there when I make it back next time. Anyways, here's today's stuff!

Harshly cleaned anti-slavery token. The cleaning doesn't really bother me, although I bet it looked far better beforehand!

A 1-gram bar in a bezel, slightly above melt (at the time).

One of the other things he had was a (1944) Henning nickel! I wanted it, but he said he'd hold it for me until I get back there. Another was about to open up Pandora's box for me... some ancient coins that drew my eye. Something like a 400-600BC Medusa coin, in another gold bezel. I thought it looked pretty cool!

All looks good! Save that token for "Token Tuesday!", alright?
That Medusa coin sounds interesting.;)

That coin brings me back to my childhood. National Geographic. The 3rd world Playboy Magazine, that's what we called it. :p

What's up with the backwards "N" in united? I'm admittedly stupid when it comes to tokens or anything exonumia in general.

I noticed that too for the first time, and I've seen these posted before. Looked at a few on Heritage and they're all like that, but on the male version the N is normal. Strange.
