This MS64 1883S looks fake AF to me (eBay, of course)

It doesn't look like the PCGS True View at all on their website. It looks dull and listless, and the bag marks do not match up. So far not many people are believing based on bidding. A coin in this year, mint mark, and grade has no business being sold on eBay. What do our experts think? @Jack D. Young ?

You know what's wrong with that coin and slab?

Literally everything.

Short story long, "Morgan" under the grade on a pre-21 indicates a counterfeit, along with a slightly, but very, wrong font. The coin, if genuine, would grade AU details, harshly cleaned at the very best.

Yeah, it's got a list of problems longer than every US interstate combined. Those total 48,890 miles.

 

I think there is a reason there isn't a full photo of the slab. Damn it, the Chinese are getting better with their fakes AND slabs though.

 

The font does look weird, but the photos are not very clear. That was one of the first thing I noticed. The 1 looks funky in 1883.

 

Yea, and their picture taking skills suck! With all those cameras over there, you'd think they could take a darn picture.

 

That's just it, they don't think people will notice it's counterfeit if the pictures aren't that clear.

CDNs for an 1883-S in MS64 are $3,960 and $4,950. That should be a felony charge if it sells for this much.

One look was all it took for me to be glad that I already have this coin.

 

That's borderline crazy! It seems they like the basic label also. NO CAC or other sticker.

I think a CAC Sticker would be very hard to counterfeit; besides, if it was real, it would destroy upon tampering.

 

They might as well use one of these for suckers.....

 

Imagine how much time and money it would cost for every one of those.

I doubt Check A CAC Check Check would be in business long though. They're like a 5th party, with 4 to go before something gets sent to 'em.

There's a good reason there was no full photo of the whole slab. That they didn't take a full one caught my attention too. My BS detector was ringing so loud, I couldn't hear my TV in the background. lol

 

Then there is this when I tried to report:
