    Nice ! that's Samian ware, from the Roman European provinces (1st - 3rd c.)

    I love ancient artifacts as much as I love ancient coins. :)

    Speaking of such things as the two posted above, below is a fitting artifact from my collection:

    Terra Sigillata (Roman “Redware”) plate fragment.
    Tau-Rho / Staurogram within concentric circles.
    ca. 4th-6th Century AD, North Africa.
    (177 mm. at widest point.)

    Well, I liked this and then went to researching what it was. You've certainly increased my "internet search" abilities with your finds! Didn't say you increased my intelligence, just my "digging". Wish I was "digging" like you are! But, I love history and I love learning new things, so I'm constantly being challenged by your discoveries. Didn't find one that looked exactly like yours, but I did find similar from the first century. I don't know how old yours is, but I would safely say it wasn't sold at the last "Black Friday Sale"! Again, I know you get tired of hearing this, but, I love it! Great piece of history. Keep on keeping on! Thank you, Kenneth
