I found this wheat cent today. any way to estimate grade of coin

    Pictures of the obverse and reverse with more natural lighting to represent what the coin actually looks like.

    Even if this coin is let's say AU-58, it's worth 20 cents (retail), and
    there is no real market. They minted 700 million of these.
    I suppose a dealer would give you a nickel or a dime, but they are
    not making any money on this transaction.
    It's certainly worth keeping. I just don't see any kind of profit from a sale.
    If another collector HAD to have it, I guess they would pay 15 cents for it.

    Nice! I haven't seen a wheat penny in my pocket change for countless years. Finding one used to make my day. Sadly, my days haven't been made for a long long time. I'm glad that they still pop up now and then.

    As already said, the photo doesn't present enough information for grading. And, as also already said, it's not a valuable coin even in high grades. Do you want to know the grade for your own purpose? Or are you practicing grading?

    Just curious. The coin is in pretty good shape. My phone doesn't take very good pics though. However there are no spots on the coin and very few scuff marks.
