@KBBPLL . Excellent coin. Love a clash mark that is so obvious. I have a few coins with clash marks too. perhaps they will do a post challenge on those some time. James

That's not bad at all based on what I see on the internet. You find them at a LCS?

I don’t buy off of the Internet. I have a trusted dealer that I have dealt with for a long, long time. I’m never in a rush to get a coin and he knows it. I tell him what I want, coin type, date and mint mark, and the grade. Then I exercise patience. Some coins he finds right away. Other coins it takes time. We’ve become friends.

Thanks for the info. I would do the same but the only place in the metro area I'm in is about 20 miles from my residence. And the rest of the time I'm on the gulf coast in the boondocks fishing.

There are good dealers on line. If you try them start out small and work your way up to more expensive coins. I’d be out fishing if I lived in a better area for fresh water than we have. I have a nice creek really close but I might pull up a 3 eyed fish.

Does a silver pillar dollar count? I mean, it's the reason why the silver dollar became the silver dollar that we all know and love. No pillar dollar, no US silver dollar.

But here is a US Silver Dollar just in case the pillar ain't good enough.

That doesn't sound that far, to me, because I'm out in the country and my closest LCS is 60 and 120 miles. But, that other word "metro" changes everything. It would probably take me less time then it would you? I'm just giving you a hard time because you're fishing and I'm not! Glad you're able to though, enjoy. Fishing and coins.

Sure counts for me, but I'm nobody! But you are totally correct as to it playing a very significant role in our silver dollar. It was legal tender until 1857, if memory serves me correctly? Thanks for posting. That's a nice looking one!
