I've learned a lot from people on this forum. Normally more would've posted.
If your new I'd suggest vcoins or ForumAncientCoins to buy from or even sng.
They will guarantee authenticity, no its not 100% nothing in life is. But they stand behind what they sell.
Stay away from ebay to many fakes.
Read & partake in posts on this forum. People here are usually more than happy to help & pass their knowledge.

these are good portals, but way overpriced in my opinion, surcharge varies from 30-100%, so I can't use them. Btw, there are quite a few reputable houses sell on Ebay, so i have nothing against it, just have to know..

True there is. I have a few I trust.
I sell on ebay just not coins, (usually).
I've seen more fake modern thru ancients on ebay than anywhere else. Gotta be careful.
Several people will post pics before they buy to see what other members think. Just keep the link or where abouts of the coin to yourself.

Thank you Smojo, I am pretty sure, that we all buy from the same houses on Ebay:) A ton of Vcoins shops have eBay representation of some form, as well as on SixBid platform...sometimes you can snatch some good gems via Ebay or Major auction houses: CNG, Roma, HA, Stacks with VCOINS- doubt it- mark up is just way too high in my opinion. I only saw 4-5 coins there which were priced in line with market, the other ones - huge markups
