Yep, ripoffs a plenty on the bay, check this one out selling fake Indians! And this idiot has 100% fb score, shameful! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1270410029...-b831-5ed85e32de02|iid:1|vlpname:vlp_homepage
Upside, you can charge it on a credit card and get 4% rebate and just think about the finite resource you'll save go green Looking at the sold items, people who have more money than time seem to not have a problem spending 3-4x face...free shipping costs on some items.
Here's another fake gold Indian seller, I wonder if there's any other gold coins besides quarter eagle Indians being sold on ebay, I mean steadily like these Indians, am I missing others? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2568868323...I3mhjHdMAQYgrL8VLQDKJ3lg==|tkp:Bk9SR_72w7zFZQ
Yeah they're not terrible looking fakes but the give away is mainly because these sellers are both asking way below the melt price. Melt right now is $391 and change, top guy was asking $279 and the bottom seller was asking $238, so that's a dead give away that they're ripoff fakes. Both sold out! https://www.coinflation.com/gold_coin_values.html
Sometimes I think about buying these things and then getting my money back from e-bay as a "not as advertised"...
That used to work reliably. I have the impression that eBay is less likely to let you keep the bogus items now, though. (That is, if you request a refund, you'll probably get it, but you'll also have to return the coin to let the seller try again.) Disclaimer: it's been a number of years since I've personally bought a counterfeit on eBay and filed for a refund.
I put a bid in on a scope @ $222.22 from a ZERO Feedback seller in Italy. The scope retails for $1200...if I don't get outbid, it could be interesting and probably a waste of time. Still says it has the eBay money back guarantee. A new search comes up with 2 more sellers with ZERO Feedback and the same item. Scam for sure.
